Make sure you say hello next time you see her and find out more about her in our short interview.
How did you start working for Maxx Music?
I was approached to take on the role of Lesson Coordinator by Ben, the owner of Maxx Music, after meeting him at one of his many gigs. He felt I was the right fit for the role of Lesson Coordinator. I think he liked the fact I love to chat! I would talk to a wall if I thought it would answer 😊. I accepted the job and from day one, knew it would be the best job I have ever had. At 64, that means something!
What do you think is the most important part of the job?
To me Customer Service is the most important element of my role. This means treating our clients (Mums, Dads Grandmas…STUDENTS) as if they are old friends. I love getting to know everyone who comes to Maxx Music and finding out about them. It makes my job more interesting and creates a personal experience for our students and their families.
Maxx Music has changed a lot in 12 years. Tell us about that.
Our Maxx Music lesson schools and the role has changed immensely. Primarily, we got bigger, meaning that we have had to come up with systems and procedures to make sure everything works and to help us provide our customers with the service they expect. Now we keep track of all of our students and teachers with the dreaded technology, which in some ways makes things easier but can be hard work too.
When I first started here, we only had our Castle Hill school and about 6 teachers. Now we have Castle Hill and Rouse Hill music schools and over 60 teachers!! It’s been a bit of a shift, but the heart of my job remains the same.
Is music important to you?
Music plays a massive part of my life, which is one of the reasons why I love this job as much as I do. Being a child of the 60’s/70’s means I have a very eclectic taste in music. I have attended SO many gigs (not just my boss’). Over the years I have been lucky enough to fulfil my bucket list seeing The Eagles, Robbie Williams and The Beach Boys amongst others. I also attend Bluesfest when I can, SO many more!
Spotify is definitely my friend!
What do you love most about being a Lesson Coordinator at Maxx Music?
At Maxx Music we are a family – students, parents, teachers and that is what makes this role so much fun!
