ROUSE HILL
School holidays mean music! This April we are offering school holiday music activities to suit everyone! Whether you play piano, guitar, sing or want to be in a band, we have something for you. Take advantage of our Intro To… sessions which are a great way to try something new. or explore ways to make music with others in our bands and songwriting workshop. It is a great way to make new friends, develop skills and confidence and have fun away from a screen.
Band in a Day – Castle Hill
Tuesdays or Wednesdays depending on band participant availability. 9.30am – 3.30pm $100
Release your inner rockstar and be a part of our Band in a Day. Open to guitarists, drummers, bass guitarists, keyboard players and vocalists (other instruments considered upon application).
Band in a Day is open to musicians who are not Maxx Music students, so feel free to tell your friends.

Music Workshops – Rouse Hill
Singing and Sparkles
Wednesday 8 April 9:30am – 12:00pm $50
Wednesday 15 April 9.30-12pm $50
Join Georgia in this fun singing workshop. Make and bedazzle your own microphone and use it to perform a purpose-written pop mash-up! Suitable for children aged 5-10 years.

Shake Rattle and Drum
Wednesday 15 April 1pm – 3.30pm $50
Join Georgia to create and decorate your very own percussion instrument using everyday items, transforming them into fun and funky musical creations. Then, as a group, we’ll play together using our new instruments to learn exciting rhythms, copy cool beats, and create our own grooves. By the end of the session, we’ll be making music together as one big, happy band!! Suitable for children aged 5-10yrs
Intro to Piano
Monday 13 April 10am-11am $25
This fun one-hour group piano lesson is the perfect way to give piano a go! Students will explore the piano keyboard, discover how to use their hands and fingers at the piano and by the end of the workshop, even be playing a short tune. Suitable for children aged 7yrs +
Intro to Guitar
Thursday 9 April 10am – 11am $25
Give guitar a go in this introduction workshop with Zach. This practical workshop will get you strumming in no time! A great way to make new friends and find out if guitar is for you. Suitable for children aged 7yrs +
Songwriting Workshop: Write, Collaborate & Perform
Friday 10 April 10.30am – 3.30pmIn this hands-on workshop, participants will work together with Seb to write an original song and perform it at the end of the session. The focus is on creativity, collaboration, and building confidence in a group environment while turning ideas into a finished piece of music.
Along the way, participants will explore different approaches to songwriting, including lyric writing, song structure, and what makes a song connect with listeners. We’ll also look at how musicians work together in an ensemble and how to create a simple chart to help bring the song to life.
By the end of the workshop, the group will have written, arranged, and performed their own original song together.
Get to Grips with GarageBand
Thursday 16 April 10am – 3pm $80
Get to grips with GarageBand, a first step into music recording and production for young singers and musicians. GarageBand is a great tool for young musicians because it makes it easy to create, record, and experiment with music using simple instruments, loops, and recording tools in one beginner-friendly (and FREE) app which comes pre-installed on Apple devices. Suitable for 11yrs +. Own device required.
ACE Your AMEB Exam

These 3 workshops are designed to complement regular lessons and will help students taking AMEB piano and violin exams with 3 key, examined areas – sight reading, aural skills, and general knowledge. Each session is 1 hour and offers practical strategies and hands-on activities to build confidence and understanding.
Participants will:
- Learn how to approach sight reading with clarity and control
- Develop listening skills essential for aural tests
- Explore how to prepare for general knowledge questions about pieces, composers, and musical context
These workshops provide a supportive environment to ask questions, try new techniques, and gain valuable insights into exam preparation.
Suitable for students studying for Level 1 exams i.e. Prelim – Grade 4 in piano and violin.
Students studying at Level 2 i.e. Grade 5 and above (Grade 3 and above in the case of Aural) , one-on-one sessions are available.
AMEB Grade 1 & 2 Theory

As students progress to higher-level AMEB practical exams (Grade 4 and above), they are required to complete a Theory exam. In these engaging and informative 1.5-hour sessions, Ann will cover all the essential theory knowledge needed for success—explaining the content, breaking down each topic, and showing students exactly how to approach and answer the exam questions.
Whilst preference will be given to Maxx Music Students, these workshops are open to any child or young person taking AMEB exams
Additional One-on-one Lessons
We have our fantastic teachers available for one-on-one lessons these holidays!
One-on-one music lessons are the most effective way of learning an instrument, and the holidays are a perfect time to try it out before we move in to Term 1 of 2026.
For new students, in WEEK ONE of Term 2, we are offering a FREE 30 minute trial class at our Rouse Hill and Castle Hill Music Schools. They are located at Rouse Hill Town Centre and 4/3 Packard Avenue, Castle Hill 2154 (Just off Victoria Avenue).
For existing students, we are offering additional lessons for $48.50 for half an hour, or $80 for our one hour class holiday special!

PLEASE NOTE: All workshops are dependent upon having sufficient participants to ensure a good experience. Maxx Music reserves the right to cancel workshops with less than the minimum number of enrolments. In this circumstance, a full refund will be offered.
Creative Kids Vouchers are not refundable once redeemed, but a full credit with Maxx Music will be offered that can be used towards lessons.
